I was prescribed doxycycline hyclate as a 'treatment for acne' but it caused me to lose all my hair and not be able to get a good hair transplant. I've been on a steady dose of doxycycline hyclate for 4 months and have gained most of my hair. I'm not sure how effective the treatment is, but I've tried several different antibiotics and it has been fine. The only difference I can find is that I don't want to take it with antibiotics and it's hard to keep up with the dosage. I'm not sure if it's working for me or if it's the issue.

I took 100mg doxycycline hyclate every day for 3 months. I noticed some improvement. After that, I was reluctant to take it again. I have a strong skin and hair. I have had skin problems since taking it. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what were the symptoms?
I was on doxycycline hyclate daily for 4 months and I noticed that my hair was less than 2% and I was losing hair. I noticed that I was not getting a full head of hair. I noticed that I was becoming more sensitive to touch and was losing more hair than I could stand. I noticed that my acne was much less likely to develop as a result of doxycycline.Add to Edit:The only thing that really helped is to remove the antibiotic before I started taking it. I can't take a pill that contains antibiotic, I just want to get rid of the acne. I've been taking this medicine for over a year now and it's been great. I've tried several other antibiotics without any improvement. I can't stop taking the antibiotic but I can keep it. It's been life-long and I don't want to waste my time and money. It's been worth it.Read MoreRead Less
